(revised for Webgility Desktop Version 22.214.171.124)
Alerts & Notifications Tool:
Webgility Desktop now features a customize-able alert system built into the core application. This tool allows you to set up notifications based on both preset system alerts and custom alerts you build yourself.
Accessing the tool:
As of Webgility Desktop version 126.96.36.199 there is now a Bell Icon in the top blue bar of the program.
Clicking this icon will display a drop down below the bell icon. If you have any recent alerts they will display here. To view or edit the alert rule click the Gear Icon on the right of the drop down.
This brings you to the default view of the alerts and notifications set up area. There are three main views here, Orders, Products and Shipments. Each houses the alerts for the area it pertains to.
The Products and Orders have two sub sections, System Alerts and My Alerts.
System Alerts are pre-configured alerts which are on by default. You can modify the alerts by hovering over the row and clicking the edit icon on the very right. This allows you to adjust the values on the requirements for triggering the alerts
Or you can simply turn them off by click the green toggle just to the left of the edit icon.
Creating Your Own Alerts:
The first time you visit the Alerts & and Notifications tool you will find the sections for My Alerts to be blank.
To begin adding a custom alert click the Add New Alert button in the upper right of the window.
This brings you to a blank Configure Alert window.
To start defining your alert begin by choosing a category - Orders, Products or Shipments, as a starting point for what will cause the alert to trigger.
If you are making a Products based alert you will have a drop down to select whether you want the Store or the accounting system is what will trigger the alert
Then you have to select whether All or Any of the conditions (more on this below) need to be met to have the alert trigger.
At this point you need to start building out the conditions them selves in the panel below .
Select an element from the Check if drop down. The contents of this drop down menu will vary depending on the category of alert you are defining.
The contents of the second drop down menu will again vary depending on what you have chosen in the first, but will generally ask you to define the limit of the alert. And in the last field you need to define the value you want to trigger the alert.
You will notice that the description of your fills in below as you build it.
You can also add multiple conditions to an alert by clicking the Plus Icon on the right. Remember if you have selected All above then all conditions must be met for the alert to fire off.
When you are happy with how your new alert is defined, click Add on the lower left. If you want to start over click Cancel.
Alerts will trigger when the associated action happens (ex products levels below a specific amount) . You will know if an alert has been triggered because there will be a number next to the Bell Icon.
Clicking the bell will tell you what alerts were triggered and you can go into the Alerts tool to get more info.
