After you have setup the payment, the next stage is to configure your shipping settings. The Shipping setup screen allows you to select a shipping processor, select an item for shipping charges, configure your choice of shipping provider, map shipment methods and more.
To configure the shipping settings
1. Under the Settings tab of the Shipping screen section:
a. If you want to setup a shipping line item and record the shipping charges into NetSuite, click Yes.
The corresponding options for processing shipping labels and mapping shipment methods get displayed.
Note: By default, this option is pre-selected as No, implying no further configuration is required in this screen.
b. If you want Unify to record the shipping tax, select the Record Shipping Tax checkbox.
c. If you want Unify Enterprise to process shipping labels, click Yes.
The Options tab gets displayed that lets you configure your desired shipment processing options and also enable the weight scale.
Note: By default, this option is pre-selected as No, implying you need to only map shipment methods with NetSuite.
d. If you want to use the existing shipping settings, click the Use Existing Shipping Settings checkbox and select the appropriate value from the Use Existing Shipping Settings drop down box.
Note: If you have configured your shipping settings with any shipping provider, say Amazon, this option appears in the drop down box.
e. If you want to copy the shipping settings, click Copy Shipping Settings.
f. An alert message displays notifying that all your default settings will get overwritten if you click Yes. Click either Yes to overwrite the settings or No to cancel the operation.
3. Under Select Shipping Processor:
a. Select the appropriate shipping processor(s) such as USPS, UPS, FedEX and more as deemed appropriate if you do not want to use your existing shipping provider (as outlined in step (d)).
b. Based on your selection, the corresponding tabs gets displayed. (For example, if you select UPS Direct, the UPS Direct and Shipping Rules tabs gets displayed).
- Options and Shipping Rules tabs are common for all the shipping processors.
- If you select any/all of the shipping processors, you wouldn't be able to use your existing shipping settings, which implies you need to customize the settings for the selected shipping processors.
4. Click Map Shipment Methods with NetSuite.
5. Under Shipment Mappings screen:
a. From the Select Carrier drop down box, click the carrier that you would like to configure for shipments.
b. If you want to enter a new method, type the method name in the Enter Method Name field and click Add New Method. A message notifies that the shipment method has been successfully saved. The new method gets displayed as the last row of the table.
Note: You can click Delete corresponding to the new method to delete that method.
c. Under NetSuite and Shipping Item drop down fields, click to select the respective shipping providers to map them with the corresponding provider displayed under Online Store.
d. Click Save & Close to save the settings, closing this screen.
6. Finally click Save & Next to save the settings, directing you to the Options screen.
Note: In case you have selected any shipping processor (Ex: UPS, FedEx, etc), you will be directed to the Options tab to configure the settings for the selected shipping processor.
Once you have configured your shipping provider, you can set up shipping rules in the Shipping Rules tab. Click here to learn more about creating shipping rules.
