How Unify Enterprise handles product variations with Pinnacle Cart (POS)

A. Initial setup of Pinnacle Cart and Unify Enterprise

Step 1: Items in Pinnacle cart must be created within the Pinnacle Cart interface and setup to track inventory at all product and attribute levels. 

 

Step 2: Download data and settings in Unify Enterprise so all product information can be utilized by Unify Enterprise. 

B. How to setup Unify Enterprise to see Pinnacle Cart variations

The Unify Enterprise interaction with Pinnacle cart item variations is dependent on the matching criteria between the variation Sub item ID (Pinnacle Cart) and the UPC/ALU/Item number field in POS that matches with the Sub item ID in Pinnacle Cart.  

C. How Unify Enterprise sees Pinnacle Cart variations

To determine how Unify Enterprise sees the variations within your Pinnacle Cart store, after setting up the configuration, go to the Product Module ->My Products and click on the Get Product button.  

 

Unify Enterprise will see the base product (test) as well as the variations connected to that product (TEST-001).  

Note: The "*" is purely cosmetic and does not modify the SKU of the base product or variation.  

The goal is to see that all product variations in Pinnacle cart match with its "twin" in QuickBooks. The Matching products tab should look like this:

 

D. How orders are processed

This is how an order in with items that have variations look within the Pinnacle Cart interface. 

Step 1: When Unify Enterprise downloads the order, it will download the item Sub ID as the SKU.  

Step 2: Matching criteria has been established between the item sub ID and the field in QB POS. 

Step 3: When the order is posted to QuickBooks POS it will connect with the correct item in POS and deduct the quantity. 

E. Synchronizing item variation data between Pinnacle Cart and QuickBooks

Since Unify Enterprise can see the item variation properly, it can also identify when the quantity in the online store doesn't match the quantity in QuickBooks.  Click the links to learn more about how product synchronization works and how to sync out of sync data

Note: Unify Enterprise cannot synchronize variation price between Pinnacle cart and QuickBooks. 

F. Pinnacle Cart variations/QuickBooks POS/Unify Enterprise limitations

  • Unify Enterprise cannot transfer items from QuickBooks POS and create variations in Pinnacle Cart. 
  • Unify Enterprise cannot synchronize variation price between Pinnacle cart and QuickBooks.
