To access the Product Transfer Module go to Products > Transfer/List Products
Use this screen to transfer an inventory item from your online store to your accounting software or, from the accounting software to the online store.
When transferring items there are a couple things to keep in mind.
Information on the opposite side of the transfer isn't usually fully complete.
The online store will be missing some information that QuickBooks needs for accurate accounting. For example most online stores do not require an item cost but cost is needed in QuickBooks for accurate profit and loss reporting.
In the other direction, the information in QuickBooks is not usually the best customer facing representation of a product. Items will generally need to have their descriptions touched up and additional images added once you have transferred them from QuickBooks to your store.
Transferring to your Online Store
Simply select the product, make settings into the edit selected product section.
1. This information is pulled from QuickBooks and can be over written in this screen.
2. This section is information required by your store before it will allow the item to be selected.
Click save and you will find that the item status changes from missing to ready to transfer.
You can transfer one or more than one 'ready to transfer' items by clicking the Transfer Products button with all of them selected.
Remember, if you are transferring from the accounting software to the store, you will also have options to add an image, select one or more categories for the online store and / or to map attributes(for products with options / variations).
