When you need to link a product in your online store with an item in your account system and the unique identifier doesn't match 100% you will need to map the products together.
The product mapping wizard is accessed from the Products Menu under Map then select Products.
Once selected you will get a pop up screen displaying a list off all the products from this online channel which are not currently matching (or mapped) to anything in your QuickBooks.
To start mapping your products select an item via the tic box to the left and click Select Item on the right.
This has a small pop up window appear, in it is a drop down which contains the entire list of products in your accounting system.
Then select the item from the accounting software by clicking select item from the drop down menu, or start typing its item name and it should appear in the drop down to select.
Review the item you select then you click the Map Product button.
This will take you back to the main screen for Mapping items. You will notice the item you intend to map now has the QuickBooks item name previewed next to it in the row. To commit the mapping click Map Missing Products in the lower left.
This will result in a success confirmation pop up letting you know the items were successfully mapped together.
When you click Close on the pop up you will notice your item has disappeared from the list because it is now mapped to an item in QuickBooks. Once the mapping is done, you can go to Products >> All Products >> Mapped products to review or delete the mapping.
