The purpose of mapping products is to connect Column A to Column B, therefore when an order is posted to QuickBooks with the Column A information it will connect with the products in Column B to deduct quantity from the QuickBooks POS database.
Retrieve the mapping template from the Webgility system folder
Elements of the mapping template for QB POS
This information is found within the store configuration->Product screen. This information should be applied to the mapping template.
- Store item identifier: this can be the product SKU in the online store
- Quickbooks item identifier: the field in QuickBooks POS that matches the product SKU in the online store
- QuickBooks list ID: QuickBooksListID
This information is used by eCC Desktop to detect the previous download date and time of products. When you get products, rather than scan your entire product database, eCC Desktop only looks at the product that it hasn't detected previously.
The QuickBooksListID is contained only within eCC Desktop and can be accessed by exporting your current product list. Go to Products->My Products to export QuickBooks Products to access the list ID.
Note: eCC Desktop v4.5 is able to override the list ID requirement.
In the export file:
Copy the ListID and paste it into Column C of the QB POS Mapping Template
- Item type: Item type can be an Inventory or a Non-inventory item
Tip: Since you are mapping Column A to Column B, when an order is posted to QuickBooks with the Column A information it will connect with the products in Column B to deduct quantity from the QuickBooks POS database.
Importing the template
Go to Product menu heading and select Map Products. Click on the Import Mappings button.
Select the .csv file of the template and import. You will receive a confirmation after the import is complete.
