Due to the construction of the Volusion variation it will behave as a "simple item" and inventory levels can be maintained for the individual variation.
Establish product matching criteria in Unify Desktop. In order for Unify Desktop to recognize that a product in the Volusion store has a corresponding product in QuickBooks, the data must be the same in the field Unify Desktop is looking for it.
For example, if your matching criteria is as shown below:
Other QuickBooks POS product identifiers: Item name, Item number and UPC

- Create your option attributes
- Enable the Options Inventory Control Grid.
Volusion will construct the option combinations based on the number of option attributes.

Option Inventory Control Grid in Volusion
When Volusion builds the options, each option can have it's own individual SKU.
The option product code in Volusion should match with the product identification in QuickBooks.
When the product is viewed within the Volusion items area, you will see the construction of the parent item (viewable) and its child/options (simple product) which is the product that is chosen in the order.
Because of this construction, the variation functions as a simple item and inventory levels can be managed for the individual item.
When this is done Unify Desktop is able to:
- Establish a match between your Volusion and QuickBooks products
- Option product holds the individual quantity of the item in Volusion
- Synchronize quantity between QuickBooks and Volusion
What Unify Desktop cannot do:
- Transfer QuickBooks items to Volusion as options
